JAKARTA— The government launched a policy to increase fees of motor vehicle documents. This increase is stipulated in Government Regulation No. 60 of 2016 concerning Types and Rates of Non Tax Revenue (PNPB). Ratified on 6 December 2016, this rule begins is effect on 6 January 2017.
This regulation replaces Government Regulation No. 50 of 2010 on the same matter. The contents set new tariffs for the documents of motor vehicles— both two-wheel and four wheels— by the Indonesian National Police nationwide.
This new regulation mentions the addition of administration fees of— among others— approval vehicle registration, issuance of favourable motor vehicle registration number, license, as well as cross-border vehicle registration.
The amount of the increase ranges about two to three fold. For example, for the issuance of vehicle registration two-wheeled or three, the old rules only paid IDR 50 thousand, while the new regulations make the tariff to IDR 100 thousand. For the four wheels, ranges from IDR 75 thousand to IDR 200 thousand.
The considerable increase occurred in the issuance of new and changed ownership BPKB (mutation). Two wheels and three were previously charged IDR 80 thousand. With this new regulation, it will be USD 225 thousand. Four-wheel in the past was IDR 100 thousand, it is now charged IDR 375 thousand. (*)
